Accessibility

Accessibility is how we build, not what we add.

Our approach to inclusive design and engineering — and the accessibility statement for this website.

01Our approach

Considered from the first sketch to the final release.

  • WCAG 2.2 AA as the baseline

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines are our design and acceptance criteria, not an afterthought.

  • Semantic HTML

Real buttons, links, headings, landmarks and form controls — so assistive technology understands the page.

  • Keyboard navigation

Every interaction works with Tab, Shift+Tab, Enter, Space, Escape and arrow keys where expected.

  • Screen reader support

Tested with screen readers, with meaningful names, states and announcements.

  • Color contrast

Color tokens validated for contrast in every theme — and color is never the only signal.

  • Visible focus states

A clear, consistent focus indicator on every interactive element.

  • ARIA where appropriate

ARIA fills genuine gaps in HTML. It never replaces native semantics.

  • Reduced motion

Animation respects the reduced-motion preference and never carries essential meaning.

02How we test

Automated checks catch some issues. People catch the rest.

  • Automated checks (such as axe) in development and continuous integration.
  • Manual keyboard testing of every interactive flow: Tab, Shift+Tab, Enter, Space, Escape and arrow keys.
  • Screen reader testing with commonly used combinations such as NVDA with Firefox or Chrome, and VoiceOver with Safari.
  • Zoom and reflow testing up to 400%, and checks with reduced-motion and high-contrast settings.
  • Color contrast validation for every design token, in both light and dark themes.

03Standards

What we measure against.

We use the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, level AA as our design and acceptance criteria. WCAG is the technical standard referenced by many accessibility laws and policies, including guidance under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Section 508 in the United States, the European Accessibility Act (EAA) and EN 301 549 in Europe, and the UK public sector accessibility regulations.

We do not claim blanket legal compliance for any product. Conformance is assessed for a specific product or website, against a stated standard, and documented with the testing performed.

04Statement

Accessibility statement for this website.

AMPDUO Studio is committed to making this website accessible. It is designed and built to meet WCAG 2.2 level AA. Features include semantic structure and landmarks, a skip link, full keyboard operation, visible focus indicators, sufficient color contrast in light and dark themes, descriptive labels and error messages, and support for reduced-motion preferences.

Known limitations

Illustrative product interface previews are decorative and are described in text rather than exposed element by element to assistive technology. If you find any barrier on this website, please tell us.
